Romanen är i tre delar: Den första är utifrån mördarens perspektiv, kvinnan som Foconis bror sammanlevde med. Den andra består av ett stort antal röster som haft att göra med paret ifråga. Den tredje utgörs av ett samtal mellan författarens alter ego och den döde brodern.

Stefan Foconi's brother got murdered. His novel is a fictitious study of what lead to his murder. The story is devided in three parts showing different perspectives. The first one is the murderer's view. The murder has not been solved, but the brother's female partner was the primary suspect and the author believes she was the one who did it. The second part of the book gives voice to several persons who knew the couple in question. In the final part a character representing the author has a discussion with the dead brother.
