0/5 ( ratings)
When traveling in other countries, we try to eat he food hat is traditional in each country. Therefore, we often have pleasant memories of certain places and of he food associated with those particular locations.

To say that the Danes do not have a food culture, would be incorrect. The famous open faced sandwiches are unique. Also, Danish pastry is famous. In some parts of the world, a pastry is simply called "a Danish."

The Danes like all nationalities, have heir traditions and their customs. Tourists who become tired of international menus in large, impersonal hotels, seek out the small, intimate restaurants where real Danish food is served. Driving through the country side, stopping at a Danish inn to enjoy the special regional dishes is also an enjoyable part of a visit to Denmark. Or the tourists may visit Tivoli on a warm summer night and taste the famous open faced sandwiches with freshly shelled shrimps piled high on white, buttered bread accompanied by a glass of ice cold aquavit.

Dining with the Danes tries to capture such pleasant memories of Denmark. The book contains some of the best known traditional dishes and a few more modern dishes that you may have enjoyed while visiting that country.
