Alec McCaul: part Reacher and part Spenser, is a Canadian security operative living in Havana, who is hired by the CIA to do a risk profile. McCaul hooks up with his mission partner, Lucien Ruel, a deadly commando who may have ulterior motives. Then he runs into his lost love, Kate Adams, now in Havana working for CNN looking for dirt. Together, with a heroic Cuban chopper pilot and a street kid, McCaul and Kate dodge Cuba's security apparatus and end up finding a terrorist camp in the mountains. Then they connect with the new Cuban messiah.
Then a Miami Herald reporter is killed by the secret police and the White House is in a panic.
Over the course of a week Alec and Kate take on the Castro regime, Islamic terrorists, the CIA and barely manage to survive the treacherous outcome.
