I like this author. Hardy har har... =)
'Tempting the Best Man' was a cute, heart-warming, sexy story. At under 200 pages, and around 4 hrs. of audio, this was a quick and entertaining "book". It was funny and endearing enough to hold my attention, while not being emotional enough to consume my thoughts. This is a great "light" read if you're recovering from a book hangover.Madison has always loved her older brother's best friend, Chase. Everyone knows it, except for him. Guys can be clueless like that. With the exception of the event...
Wow I am so in the minority right now it's not even funny.Let me start by saying that I enjoy Jennifer's writing style especially in Obsidian and I also love a good steamy romance. But unfortunately with this I felt like I'd read it all before & better.I know this was a novella but I've read novella's before & been able to connect with the characters for eg Connected.I was so tired of hearing how humiliated & rejected the h (I can't remember her name, it's like i wiped it from my memory or someth...
This was a short and easy afternoon read; I really enjoyed it. Chase is Maddie's brother's best friend and best man for his upcoming wedding. Maddie's had a crush on Chase since they were little and everyone knows it. Chase thinks highly of Maddie and did not want to cross the friendship line, even though she is everything he wanted. For every step they took to get closer to each other, circumstances pull them apart two steps. Like all good romance story, the anticipation of Maddie and Chase get...
as a short novella, this is really good for what it is, but i was dying for more. childhood friends to lovers is one of my favourite tropes, so i was disappointed by how short and to the point this is. i think the story could have been better with flashbacks. i wanted more about the MCs childhood, how they were with each other when they were in high school and college, and i definitely wanted more than a paragraph talking about the night where everything went wrong. this certainly has the potent...
3.5 StarsChase Gamble and Maddie Daniels have been friends forever. Chase is the best friend of Maddie's brother, Mitch, and the three of them played and hung out even before they started elementary school. Here's the thing though, Maddie has had it bad for Chase ever since she started being interested in boys. Chase, needing to escape family drama was like a fixture at the Daniels' house. He's always been protective of Maddie, held her up on a pedestal. Until one night when they let their feeli...
Cute unrequited love story, but with an eye-rolling ending.Tempting The Best Man was a lite, cute sexy short story about unrequited love. Predictable? Yes. Original? Heck no. A fun read? For a light beach read, absolutely. Madison (Maddie) has had a crush on Chase since she was a little girl. Chase is her brother Mitch's best friend, and now his best man in his upcoming wedding. He believes Maddie is too good for him, and off limits since she's the sister of his best friends. But things heat up
Five Huge Stars =DDear Ms. Armentrout,You are a genius. I just had to get that out first. Mother Lord do you have mad skills or what!? I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I really hope you continue to write more adult contemporary books because this was brilliant. I could not put it down, I had to postpone my lunch date with my hubs just so I can finish it. **SIGH** I love Chase & Maddie's story. Their chemistry is off the charts. Bravo. Bravo. You just rock! Can't wait to see what you wri...
This was a really fun and quick read. It was cute, sexy, and entertaining. I did enjoy it quite a bit but I didn’t invest myself into it as it was so short and there was barely any time to get to know the characters. It did hold my attention but just not get me all the way emotionally. I like Madison and Chase. Chase and his brothers (The Gamble Brothers) definitely have some childhood issues that they all need to work on. But seeing Chase in this book fighting against his issues for Madison was...
I'm working my way through sickness right now, so I'll probably lazy review this one. Either way, I'll be back to my rambling and sad attempts at humor in my reviews tomorrow. In case you didn't know, this author is the same person as Jennifer L. Armentrout. While I have had certain "ethical" issues with one of Armentrout's series in the past, I can honestly say that I've never had any complaints about her writing. Usually, her stuff is pretty entertaining. She rocks it out in the YAPNR departme...
My, oh my, oh my...our miss J. Lynn's sinful little secret is out of the bag, and it is PERFECTION!! I have always been a huge fan of Jennifer's amazing writing, and her steamy scenes in the Lux and Covenant series never disappoint, but clearly her talents in the romance genre have gone underestimated!! I was expecting this to be good, but I wasn't expecting to be completely blown away with an unforgettable story. Whew, my heart is still racing and I finished this last night!!!!Tempting the Best...
I'm such a fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout, especially when she's writing as J. Lynn. I loved Wait for You so much and I've been meaning to read her other books for quite some time. I finally go around to it and I'm so glad that I did. Tempting the Best Man is such a fun read. I read it in like 5 hours and stayed up until midnight to finish it. And I had so much fun reading this book. I laughed out loud, I fell in love with the characters, and I flailed around like a crazy person. I really just ha...
*WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS ADULT CONTENT* YOU'RE BEING WARNED.GOD DAMN FUCKING SHIT. There I said it. I just read my first adult book and I didn't even know it. Okay, by the title of the book I should have guessed it. But let's not talk about my roots please, I'd rather discuss this book.First of all, once again I was still out of town when I checked on GR and saw a friend had read this book. I had no idea what this book was about or who was the author or anything. I go on and read the synop...
Jennifer L. Armentrout... You are the bomb... I'm not ashamed to say that i shadowed Amazon, till this book went live! Some of you may be confused as to why I'm talking about Ms Armentrout when this book is written by J. Lynn... well that's Jennifer's pen name for her adult books! When I found out that she was writing a story for Entangled Publishings' Indulgence line, i almost died... most probably from the anticipation. I love the new Indulgence line and couple that with Ms Armentrout (who han...
Quick reviewCover: Likey! Rating NC-17 Thumbs Up 4Overall: Short but Hot!Characters: Well writtenPlot: Friends before lovers.Page Turner: Yes. Series Cont.? If there are more to come. Recommend YesBook Boyfriend: ChaseSUMMARY (50 words or less)If you are looking for something sassy and short, this novella is for you. There is a promise, a tease, frustration, the big bang, loss, misunderstanding, and a happily ever after in this short story. Only around a little more than a hundred pages, but...
I liked this one for a shorter read.It wasn't overcomplicated with a too quick ending. It was an even pace with some angst and a HEA.
This book is a short, kind of fun, often frustrating, ever so slightly steamy (but in a very tame kind of way), read about childhood friends with unrequited feelings for each other who end up as best man/maid of honor at a wedding and are forced to share a cabin for the weekend forcing their feelings into the open.I didn't really connect with the characters. I found the story very rushed, Chase and Maddie weren't very functional either as individuals or as a couple and I found their behavior qui...
REVIEW TO COMEchocolatecoatedreviews.blogspot.comBut here are some GIFS to pass the time:JENNIFER ARMENTROUT...-----------------------------------------------------------------------OKAY SO, THIS IS MY UPDATED REVIEW:Cover Rating From 1-5?A SMACK DAB OUTSIDE THIS RANGE WITH A 10!HOLY BEEFCAKES IN A WINERY, DOES IT GET ANY HOTTER THAN THIS?!This book has it all, the love, the drama, the characters, the humor, and the childhood romance that coated this delicious novel in layers of sweetness that h...
Hawt Dame!!!!Have you read Jennifer's YA books? Well if you have then you already know what this women can do with with chemistry, angst and temptation. But since those books are for YA, the more heated moments would always fade to black, giving us a taste but never quite getting the entire mouth full we desperate need. But that's okay, I can totally live with that since the Covenant series and the Lux series is incredible so much more. But! With this book, this yummy little book, we get the whol...
...tacky 70’s Honeymoon Suite... ★★★½☆ (This is a review of the audiobook.) I enjoyed Kaleo Griffith’s narration of this book. Nevertheless, he reads slows, and I couldn’t speed up the rate on Hoopla. That drove me a bit nuts. However, he has a nice voice, his pacing is good as is his enunciation. I liked that I could hear the amusement in his voice, when it was appropriate.Hmmmm. I'm not quite sure why I picked this one. I wanted something light, but snarky, and with a “bad boy,” thus
