Its time has come round at last. The Second Coming... The Son of God has been reborn upon the earth but there's one small problem: He doesn't realise it. There are others who know of his return, though. One man in particular - the Wandering Jew - has come to the city of Newport in search of Christ. He hasn't come to praise the messiah; he's here to kill him. A group of immortals - The Prodigals - are trying to stop him, while the Devil sits back and watches it all unfold. Amongst this growing chaos, young Tom Marshall stands unaware. He's just left school, his plans for the future uncertain. More by accident than design, he begins working for Sam Haine in his second hand bookshop and suddenly finds himself at the centre of events which will change his life and his perception of reality forever.
