This is the 'sensible' version, the one you can actually read to your children, but it can't compare with the other one (Go the F--k to Sleep), especially the audio version, read by Samuel L. Jackson (see here, but after you make sure your kids aren't around: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cb0t9...)
This is a short book, maybe 20 pages. I don't have small children at home anymore but I can remember feeling this way. It made me laugh. Recommend to mothers struggling with getting their little ones to sleep.
I love good children books. Ever since I read an unparliamentary version of this book on the internet, I chuckled at the real unadulterated frustration that came from its words. Yes, I've been there, too. Now I got my own copy of it thanks to First Reads, and the even though what I received is a perfectly clean and politically correct copy, I will always secretly remember what it originally said and chuckle to myself every time I read it.
This is a great book specially for parents with little ones who won’t go to sleep. I really liked it because this is my life. My dear daughter doesn’t like going to sleep and reading this book made me laugh because it was so close to my life.
Had no idea there was a PG version. Very cute and nice twist at the end... though still unsure this qualifies as a children's book :)
Adult version of Go the Fuck to Sleep.
It's a funny story
A sanitized version of the popular book from last year. Cleaned-up, but I am still thinking that this one really belongs in a ladder with ASLEEP IN 60 SECONDS or SPINSTER GOOSE ("fun" for adult readers with a pinch of nostalgia). If you read the original, there is nothing to see here. . .
A cleaner version of the classic go the F to sleep
This is the children-friendly version of the book "Go the **** to Sleep*I read this to my children. I believe it's more or less the same wording as the original version, except, of course, for the last line on each page containing profanity.I read this to my three little ones aged 7, 8 and 10. They're at the age where their senses of humour are well developed and they could enjoy the gentle teasing nature of this book. They could also recognise many of the scenarios featured because, let's face
A great option to the original that had the "f" word, but it's just funnier with the swearing.
I can read this version to my girls, but not this version.
Not as good as the adult version, but it is a neat idea making an edited version so it can be shared with a child. I'm not sure if I wold personally, but the story still does make me smile.
I came across this title while reading Why We Sleep. This is the "cleaned up" version of the author's original title. There really isn't anything special here other than a parent wanting his kid to go to sleep.
This is the G-rated version of the R-rated book. Having read the original adult, R-rated version first, I found that this book was definitely not as engaging or humorous. As a ryhming bedtime story for children it works, but at times seems to be a bit off because of the changes made to make it child friendly.
This is the cleaned up version of Adam Mansbach original book Go the F*%# to Sleep, but it is still a book aimed a tired, harried parents not at their babies and/or toddlers. I suspect all parents have been pushed to the point that the parents in this book have reached (I know I have on occasion, but luckily my Kiddo was pretty good about going to bed), but somehow I just didn't find this book very appealing, and although the illustrations were very nice, words and text just didn't compliment ea...
I chose to read the child friendly version to Camila. She did not seem amused.
Before I read this, I thought this was like a "part 2" of Go the F*ck to Sleep but it's actually just a clean version of it. It honestly didn't have quite the same effect I thought, but if you want to read to your kids or buy as a gift for someone who can't handle a few cuss words, then this would be the one to get.
Not as fun as the original, but i feel much better as a parent reading it to my kids at night.
Hilarious kid friendly version of the beloved Go the F*** to Sleep. It still has all the humor and flair without the choice swear words. It is still a delight to read and will get loads of laughs from both adults and kids alike. It captures the not so glorious part of parenting and the struggle to get your kids to just settle down at the end of the night and go to sleep. I think this is a must for all parents. 5 stars
