I need to read this several more times to arrive a more definite assessment. The works that are more formally structured and based on Mythos tales work well enough, but I am hard pressed to decide how much of it is borrowed energy from the original tales. For my money, some of the free verse that is less closely tied to a specific story by HPL, CAS, Block etc are the most interesting.
My favorite poem is In the Night Garden.
An amazing ouvre, as notable for its Lovecraftian obsession as its vision. Highlights include a sonnet cycle illumining the progress of Lavinia Whatley (Lovecraft's only genuine female character), another cycle entitled "In the Yaddith Time" that combines the sonnet form perfectly with science fiction tropes, and the wholly original gems "Her Muse Is A Raven", "There Is A Darkness" and "Sanguine Taggers".
