A fun read.
Though without the shock value, or engaging climax the original possessed, Skullkickers Volume 2 is still a blast through and through, with simple, yet wholly impactful art. 4/5
Not nearly as hilarious as the first volume, but still a highly entertaining comedy fantasy dealy.
This was probably one of the most fun graphic novels I've read in a long time. Jim Zub's art as always is fantastic, and really draws you into this insane world. The plot had me laughing out loud at times, and the characters are well developed and just ooze personality. I cannot wait to read the next volume.
The squirrel! The squirrel was hilarious!
fun read.
Another great entry! I love the vivid art and funny characters! Great read for a graphic novel lover!
I think I liked vol 1 better than this one but I am still a fan of the series and I will for sure continue on.
Its entirely possible that this volume was even sillier and tongue in cheekier than the first volume! I'd like to write a fun review, but I can't think of how to do it without spoiling the punch lines. So, go read it!
Some fun word play and indestructible heroes. Maximum Mob Mentality, Chopping Implement Procured
Well I vaguely remember reading volume 1, and this is the second part of that story, so the recap at the start sure helped. What didn't help was that the top of the pages being cut off and cutting off dialogue and narration. QUALITY CONTROL IMAGE! Anyway, this is a funny, violent fantasy story with giant plants, tiny fairies, elven assassins and a gag with a gun that was pretty great.
Complete and total fun. That's all. It's your 9-year old you's version of what all fantasy stories should be like--cursing, killing, and kickin' ass!
This volume is just as fun as the last one. I see no reason to not read the whole series because the humour is still there, the exagerrated circumstances are still there and the main characters are just as effective at coming out on top in the end. This story arc has the two mercenaries, Baldy and Shorty, being framed of murdering several nobles. They resort to asking the Thief's Guild for information on the ones who framed them after proving their worth in the fight pit. The Guild's leader asks
I continue to find these two crazies hilarious! The whole bit with the gun had me laughing out loud. For some reason I found cussing fairies delightful. Although bad words make the forest cry. Once again I am left loving dwarves, beer, blood, axes and miss playing WoW.
Still really, really violent and really, really funny. What else can you ask for from Skullkickers?
Harley Quinn, Chew, Skullkickers, Rat Queens, Superior Foes of Spider-Man. Look, you only need one hand to count the legitimately funny comic books that are out there, currently. I am sure I am missing some good ones. Please message me if you know a few.So, what can I say about Skullkickers Vol 2? I think that the book gets better between trade to trade. At this point, I have read trades 1,2, 4 and 5. I can say that four and five are significantly better than one and two. Does that mean this boo...
Skullkickers brings back sword and sorcery fantasy with a humorous twist. I love this series. Enough high fantasy. Let's just knock some heads!
This is just great storytelling. Silly. Exciting. Disgusting. It's all fantastic.
Artwork was still impeccable! Storylines were still nice & fluid. The obvious in your face jokes in the book made me laugh. Definitely worth reading.
