Looks at influences of women on Leopardi both in relation to his literary and intellectual formation and to his personal life, and discusses the portrayal of women in his poetry, the topic of love, and recurrent feminine images such as those of nature and the moon, highlighting positive as well as negative aspects of the poet's treatment of feminine images.
