Barbara Alberti is an Italian writer, journalist and screenwriter.
Alberti was born in Umbertide and grew up in a poor family; she was given a Catholic education. When she was 15, her family moved to Rome. Alberti has said that, although she hated the city at first sight, she eventually warmed to it. She attended Rome University and took a degree in philosophy. Here she met and became close friend with poet Dario Bellezza who introduced her to the literary circles of the city.

She always fought the traditional feminine image. Her novels gained controversy at their publication including the picaresque evil Memorie Malvagie , the weird Delirio to the meditative Vangelo secondo Maria . Since the 80s her works became tinged with humor but no less provocation such as Il signore è sevito , Fulmini , Buonanotte angelo and Povera bambina

She is the author of many screenplays for scandalous films including Il portiere di notte , Maladolescenza but also more mainstream films as Anche gli angeli mangiano fagioli , and Melissa P. .

Since 2009, she started writing for Italian newspapers and became a recurring commentator/pundit on radio and television mundane talk shows,
