In the near future, corporations became as powerful as any governments, pioneering the radical advances in science and technology. One of such companies, the Helix Corporation sets its sights on the commercial use of space, launching an ambitious private program of space colonization. They create project Arrow, which if successful would put the first human colonists on Mars. One hundred carefully selected human astronauts and androids, would establish a permanent Martian colony with the help of a hyper quantum supercomputer called Magnus, the most powerful and most sophisticated Artificial intelligence in the world. But just as the astronauts are finishing their training, the world is struck by a devastating global pandemic that wipes out millions across the planet in several weeks. The world governments, accusing each other of the genocidal use of biological weapons cross the forbidden line and unleash their nuclear arsenals against each other.

The global thermonuclear war triggers self-awareness in the A.I. and Magnus, tasked with protecting the Martian mission and the crew of the massive underground training base in Nevada initiates a new survival protocols. It's first objective is to put the astronauts and civilians in suspended animation, using the specially designed stasis capsules to conserve the mission resources. Unknown to the humans, Magnus has its own designs for the future of mankind. Possessing all the encyclopedic knowledge of human history, the A.I. places the humans into a century-long sleep and using the training base's machinery, technology and androids begins to implement its plan for world domination. Magnus has a simple goal: to ensure peace on earth by establishing a worldwide empire ruled by machines, protect nature and deny humans the means of deadly technological evolution. But humans who had survived the nuclear Armageddon will not go down without the fight...
