Outstanding. Includes the Godstorm, Wonderland and Oz Age of Darkness one shots. Very highly recommended.
Really enjoyed this graphic novel , the stories were good and the art was brilliant.received early release from netgalley for review
The Dark Queen is gathering her forces to bring down the realms and with each fallen realm she gets closer and closer to bringing in an age of darkness. In Volume 3 we see see the Dark Queen streghtining her armies and dealing devastating blow to the Realm Knights. This book focuses primarily on baddies and is full of gore and action. The illustrations as always are awesome, I will however again say, skimpy outfits in no way provide enough support to fight, just saying. The story brings in many of...
Reading the e-arc of this title it became clear how nearly pointless it was to a newbie like me (it's about the second title I've read in this huge universe of comix). Three tidy one-shots and a prologue for yet another monthly give us a god in transition, a moonlit betrayal, and what looks like a major change to the world of Oz as seen in this version of it. The whole ethos of nicking characters from this story, that franchise, this realm and that legend, and putting them all together for the a...
Age of Darkness, Volume 3 has three one-shot tales set on Earth with Zeus; in Wonderland with the Liddles; and in Oz with the return of the Warlord. In each tale, the Dark Queen seeks to extend her power by seizing power, destroying enemies or co-opting her foes. Also included is a preview of Grimm's Fairy Tales: Quest. A necessary read to keep up with the varied story-lines that run through the Grimm universe.
Here Come the Realm WarsThe "Age of Darkness" titles extend to all four of the Realms that make up the Grimm Universe, (Oz, Neverland, Wonderland and Myst), and involve almost all of the Grimm characters and especially the Realm Knights. Zenescope is building to a big Issue 100, (which is considered a real milestone). After Issue 100 the Universe will split: it will continue along one line with issue 101 and will continue in a parallel but separate line in the 12 issue "Realm Wars" series. There
Volume 3 in this entertaining series continues the Dark Queen's intimIdation, manipulation, and assembling of the dark horde. In this trade Venus, Dorothy, Calie and Violet are singled out for the Dark Queen's agenda. The stories and art are fun, violent, and engrossing. What makes a large multi volume book series wonderful is how each volume keeps the reader coming back for more and I am excited to read volume 4 next!
A lot better than volume 2. That Dark Queen tho. Looking forward to volume 4.
So volume 3 is more of the disjointed "preludes" to the titular Age of Darkness. We see the Dark Queen extend her dominion to the Realms of Olympus (retired Gods apparently), Wonderland, and Oz. If you haven't read the Wonderland and Oz arcs (like me), then things are more disjointed than usual, since I don't know who most of these characters are. The artwork in the entirety of this volume is pretty good; all three issues had different art styles.Taken by themselves, the weakest story is definit...
Having read Volume 1 but not Volume 2, this started out as being a bit confusing for me. This fantasy comic book trade paperback is entertaining and well-constructed. It is the collection of comics from the Grimm Fairy Tales series and engaging enough to want to know what ensues. It reminds me of the early Image comics. The first one-off chapter centres around Olympus, Zeus, his son, Zagreus, Venus and the Dark Horde. The second one-off chapter deals with Wonderland, Calie Liddle, her daughter, Vi...
