Interesting if not quite as good as it could have been.
If you like this 'what if Superman was raised in a medieval Japan' story, for more Elseworlds stories set in Japan, I recommend Robin Annual #3 (Jan 1994) and 5 Ronin.
The art in this comic is really gorgeous, especially in still scenes like the image of Hoshi (Superman) standing at a tree for four panels portraying each season. The plot was only so so, but I was so amused and intrigued by the idea of Batman as a female ninja I barely noticed.
Real piece of rubbish right there. This comic would have benefitted from ANY kind of research into Japan - everything's wrong, clothing, building, armours - they couldn't even get the way the sword is carried right.Even so, the story itself manages to be painfully stereotypical and "oriental". The drawings themselves are barely passable, borderline racist caricatures of Asian people. There was such potential in the concept and then its absolutely wasted.Terrible.
I have to admit, this is actually an awesome piece. And does anyone see the Seven Samurai references?
shogun of steel was a fantastic read, really liked how the character superman's origin was changed to him travelling to earth in the time of feudal Japan and growing up in the way of a Buddhist, batman also plays apart but again the character was changed to a female ninja, and my favourite character, the main story though was a battle of two sibling of sort of Jor - el (supermans) biological father, again though as with all these prestige comics I've found is that I think the story would of been...
Nice short Story mixing JLA and Feudal Japan elements. Really enjoyed it.
It’s more than fine, if all you’re looking for is a quick story featuring things that are only kinda-sorta familiar. Hopefully, you’re not like me, and spend the whole book trying to figure out which character is supposed to be which. I even googled names, and still couldn’t figure it out. That being said, they’re mostly obvious, this Elseworld’s version of Flash, Green Arrow, Superman (of course), and Hawkman. The others take leaps. I liked it for exactly what it is, but I’m also not an expert
Se Batman Ninja fosse nessa pegada seria mil vezes melhor. Isso aqui dá um banho naquela animação fácil
