Louise Mason has decided to write off love after her engagement fiasco just weeks ago. Her life in Seattle will be predictable, uneventful and void of all the drama. At least, that is what she plans for her future, unaware that sometimes fate intervenes in the strangest of ways and places...

A birthday present trip to Alaska turns into something definitely different than she had expected, threatening her newfound resolve. Meeting Jake and not falling under the spell of his blue eyed charm is a struggle, especially after they share an emotional experience in the midst of the Alaskan forest. The fact that Jake is involved with someone else makes it impossible to follow her heart, however tempting it might be.

She perseveres, Jake's early departure putting an end to what could have been.

Meeting him again, this time in Seattle, isn't something she had expected to happen. This time he is free and determined to break through the wall of indifference she has built around her heart.
