Nikolai Vladimirovich Bogdanov Soviet children's writer , playwright , journalist of the front newspaper.

During his studies, he became a pioneer leader, worked in the Pioneer magazine, helped Nadezhda Krupskaya to correspond with readers, and also wrote a preface to her book Letters to Pioneers. Friendship with Arkady Gaidar prompted him to write his first book about pioneer life. And he wrote the book One of the First. Then there were other books: "The Party of Free Guys", "Miracles", "When I was a counselor" and others.

During the Soviet-Finnish war, he became a correspondent for the army newspaper "Leninsky Put", covered the actions of the Red Army. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he also worked as a front-line correspondent. Based on his essays, he wrote two books about the war for children and two books of prose. During the war he was awarded medals "For the Defense of Moscow", "For the Defense of Leningrad", "For the Defense of Stalingrad" and others.
