Galina Demykina was born in 1923 in Moscow. Her parents - graduates of the Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University - dreamed that her daughter would follow in the family footsteps. Little Gali's favorite pastime in childhood was trips to the forest. The amazing world of nature attracted and fascinated her, she was well versed in plants and animals, since there were foresters in the family who took the girl to her for summer holidays.

Galina firmly decided to enter the Faculty of Biology. And so it happened, she became a student at Moscow State University. But very soon she realized that she would become truly happy if she wrote ... She even then managed to small poems and stories. Soon Galina resolutely left biology and transferred to the Faculty of Philology, specializing in Russian language and literature.

In 1946, after graduating from university, she entered to work for the All-Union Radio. Her authorship belongs to the creation of a children's program "Guess", in which Galina Nikolaevna invited famous writers and artists. The program very soon became a favorite among children. In the late 1960s, the famous magazine Novy Mir first published the poems of the talented writer.

Galina Nikolaevna has created more than forty books in her entire life. She loved to write, she succeeded with great ease, which is why very soon Galina Demykina took a firm place in the hearts of readers. Already in 1963, she was awarded the prize of the Ogonyok magazine, but the biggest award for Galina Nikolaevna was that her books were known not only in her native country, but also translated into other languages ​​of the world: French, German, Italian, Polish.

For children, she wrote with rapture, creating an amazing fairy tale for little readers or painting the real world with bright colors: "Chucha: Forest Song", "Why Nobody Loves Me", "Lost Girl", "My Captain", "Colored Glasses" , "Aloshka", "How Small the World", "Bird", "Was - Was Not", "Day of the Lark" and many others. Some of the works Galina Nikolaevna created together with her husband - Georgy Alexandrovich Ball, also a famous writer.
