Adelle Stripe is the author of Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile, a novel based on the life and work of Bradford playwright, Andrea Dunbar. It was shortlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize and Portico Prize for Literature. A stage adaptation received widespread critical acclaim. Ten Thousand Apologies, her recent biography of cult band Fat White Family, is a Sunday Times bestseller.

Her 2012 poetry collection, Dark Corners of the Land, was 3:AM Magazine’s Poetry Book of the Year. Stripe’s fiction has appeared in Ambit Magazine, Manchester Review and in Flashback: Parties for the People by the People . As a journalist she has contributed to the Quietus, Yorkshire Post, and Caught by the River.

She lives in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, UK.
