Holden Furber

A specialist in the history of British India, Holden Furber was professor of South Asia Studies at the University of Pennsylvania from 1952 till 1973. Furber graduated from Harvard University in 1924 and received his doctorate from Harvard in 1929, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees from Oxford University. Before taking up his position at the University of Pennsylvania, Furber worked as a lecturer at Harvard from 1931 until 1940, assistant professor at the University of Texas from 1940 until 1948.
