Silvia Rannamaa is an Estonian writer, the author of internationally known children's stories "Kadri" and "Stepmother" .

She was born in Tallinn, of Finnish and Estonian parents. She obtained her secondary education at Tallinn Girls' Commercial High School. Between 1943 - 1944, she studied at the University of Tartu, Faculty of Philosophy. Silvia's husband was an Estonian writer Harald Suislepp.

"Kadri" and "Stepmother" have been translated into Russian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Slovak, Czech, Armenian and Georgian languages. Silvia Rannamaa published also lyric fairytales "Nösperi Nönni bit" and a collection of short stories, "Small-footed trail" . In addition, she also wrote plays, novels and poems, the most famous poetry collection is her "For You, Mom!" .
