Charles F. "Chuck" Stevens is an American neurobiologist at the Salk Institute in La Jolla.
He received his BA in Psychology from Harvard, his MD from Yale, and his PhD in Biophysics from Rockefeller University.
He is the Vincent J. Coates Professor at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, adjunct professor of pharmacology and neuroscience at UCSD's School of Medicine and an external professor at the Santa Fe Institute.
As a researcher he has a special interest in the mathematical operations carried out by neural circuits and the design principles that underlie the scalable architecture of neural circuits.
