Aileen Leijten, holds an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts. Her art films, were nominated at a number of film festivals. She won a grant to work on a project for Stephen Spielberg’s non-profit, the Starbright Foundation. Leijten worked as an Animator and Art Director in Los Angeles for twelve years, and she taught traditional animation at CalArts. Together with her ex-husband John Rocco, she moved to NYC to focus on writing and illustrating Children’s Books. She is always exploring multiple forms of artistic expression, and creates sculpted wool figurines based on her illustrations. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her daughter.
