Ian Gibson was born and raised in the little tropical land of Belize, where he famously had his hat stolen by a villainous spider monkey. He works as an illustrator and game artist, but has always had a passion for writing and fantasy world-building. Drawing inspiration from his many visits to the Belize Zoo ever since he was little, he decided to fulfil a lifelong dream and write a novel featuring the animals of Central America, and combined with his fascination with the mythology of the Maya, his fantasy adventure series “The Jade Necklace” was born.

Aside from drawing and writing, he enjoys board games, stargazing, travelling, and lounging in a hammock eating pistachios.

He still really misses that hat.
