Originally from Virginia and transplanted to the Midwest, Jenniey now lives in Iowa City. In addition to her workaday job, she teaches writing and serves as a reader, editor, and ghostwriter for various lit journals and authors. She has an MFA in poetry and is currently finishing a dystopian novel.

Her work has received support from the Sustainable Arts Foundation and PEN America.
