Dan Paley was born on a beach in the South of Spain, grew up with six siblings in a small brick row home in Philadelphia, PA and now lives with his family in Irvine, CA on a street called Hawkcreek that has only crows and no water.

Luigi and the Barefoot Races is his very first book to be published. It's about the races he and his friends ran on hot summer nights. As a kid, Dan competed in the barefoot races under the name Leadfoot.
