I grew up in the 60s and 70s in a town of 10,000 in southern Indiana. I was a devout little Methodist until puberty when other religions started to interest me. Now I'd say I'm an atheist whose approach to life has been enormously influenced by the gentle side of Christianity. Also with puberty came the realization that I'm gay. Thanks to supportive parents and a stubborn nature, self-acceptance was no struggle. My primary interests have always been music, art, literature and language. I have a B.A. in French and an M.A. in applied linguistics. I've been teaching ESL to adults for over twenty-five years and have loved practically every minute of it. I live in Wisconsin with my husband of twenty years.
